The new release of Mac OS X 10.15 (Catalina) does not run 32 bit applications at all.

Call of Duty 4 is a 32 bit application. I don't think it's going to be revised soon, but you never know.

So, if you want to continue to use the original Call of Duty, you have to either:

1) Move to windows version of the game. Install Windows using BootCamp and reboot when you want to play COD.
2) Don't upgrade to Mac OS X Catalina (old systems do get supported for at least a couple of years.)
3) Get an external hard disk, install the current system (10.14.6 Mojave) or earlier. Use Startup Disk in System Preferences to boot up from the external when you want to play COD.

The cheapest and most convenient for now is 2), but some people will have to update sooner or later.
